Flow Problem / Motor Pump Unit

The water supply to the shower seems fine but only a trickle flows from the hose when the unit is on. Seems quite noisy as well. When I removed the cover the inside of it and the shower itself seems to be lightly coated with a carbon type powder - although none of the electrical connections appear to have overheated.

Firstcheck that the inlet filter is clean   http://www.showerdoc.com/triton-t80si-pumped-shower-spares(Part 16) then check that the head is clean and clear also that the hose is notblocked or kinked.

Ifall these are OK then you may need a new motor and pump unit (part 2) however youmay get away with fitting just fitting new brushes to the motor.
