Burning smell

T80si installed and running for over three years. Stopped using shower due to electrical burning smell. When taken cover off both negative connections on the heater can assembly have obviously heated up and started to melt. Is this failure of part on the shower or with mains wiring/ shower switch?

It sounds like a fault with the wiring

I would cut out the defective sections of wire and renew.

Make sure you use the same size of heat resistant cable
