shower starts to tap as the tank heats up

The shower starts to tap internally as the water heats up ,if you turn the dial to hotter the tap gets louder and faster .Can you advise what causes it and advise on the replacement part

Not being able to hear it makes it difficult, It may just be the shower is getting old and what you are hearing is the kind of noise that a kettle makes as it comes to the boil

thanks definitely old 2006
sounds like a change of shower more than a parts repair
Do you know of a direct replacement (its the parents shower at its the chrome version which ideally they would like to keep a chrome shower)

It may be a loose screw or the heating can causing this.
