Water won't stop flowing after feed has been off for a whilte

I turned the water off for the house yesterday because of a leak on the toilet. Came to use the shower this morning after turning the water back on and didn't realise you had to switch the shower to cold first. Shower coughed and farted a bit, and now water is gently flowing out of the shower head even when the shower is off, would I be correct in assuming this is most likely to be the solenoid?

It is the solenoid assembly as it may be a very small piece of dirt could have got into this.
