Triton 780 xr

when the shower is turned on ,cold water runs from the bottom of the shower where the hose is connected for about 20 secs then slows to a dribble. What is the problem

I think the Pressure Relief Device (PRD) may have blown.

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank.

It is fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it to blow, often a kink in the hose or the showerhead is blocked, so check this before fitting the new PRD.

No, that's not it , I have had this happen twice before and it isn't the same . Also I don't mess with the shower at all it is pretty well always the same setting . Also ,it is not gushing down the wall ,the water is coming from the shower unit down onto the shower hose .

If it is not the prd then you will have to remove the cover and turn the shower on to discover were it is coming from.
