Advice needed please T80z 9.5kW

Whilst showering there was a bang of sorts with spluttering water and poor flow after that with a loss of water temperature. It was set on the highest setting. ie 2 arrow heads. It did not take the ELCB out. I have cleaned out the hose and put a new head on it. My diagnosis tests on full power with lowest flow very hot water, cooling right down of when flow set to maximum, then with it switched to lower setting barely warm water on minimal flow and cold water when flow increased to maximum. To me, amateur, I would say that either there is an element gone or perhaps one of the microswitches has gone. I cannot see any signs of burning or heat, cables sheathing all looks in good condition, microswitches do not look scorched. Flumoxed! Have you experienced this type of failure before and what do I need to get it up and running again?

It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.

If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch.

If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries

(so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the £10.
