T80z 9.5kw

Hi, I've just installed a salamander home boost pump as I have low pressure due to old lead pipes. The T80z was a bit in consistent and sometimes the lack of pressure caused it to get to hot and cut out and on the hottest mode it would rarely give any consistency at all. The salamander pump is working great and the hot water from the combi along with the mains cold have all improved considerably but the shower is now a bit colder even when it's turned up full on the low mode and to hot in the high mode. Do I have a problem with the shower, would a 10.5kw shower help now I have a decent flow, I know the shower actually limits the flow through the heating device but I don't get how it's not giving any consistency now the pressure is good. Thanks for your help Colin

Mmm! It certainly should be working now that kind of suggests that there is something wrong with the shower.

My first thoughts are a faulty element or a faulty Micro switch, see below.

It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.

If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch.

If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries

(so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the money.
