T90 XR run hot then switches to cold, good water flow

This question is regarding Triton T90xr Pumped Shower Spares

Hi. I have a T90XR that runs well for a few minutes (can be anything from 5 to 10 minutes)but then switches to cold (no heating). The water flow stays the same and does not change. The shower will work again after a few minutes. What could cause this?

First check that the hose , head and inlet filter are not blocked.
If these are fine then,
turn the shower temperature control from fully cold to fully hot. When you do this slowly there should be a gradual change in temperature and flow. At fully hot you should have not much more than a dribble coming from the hose, and on fully cold you should have a good strong flow. If you do not have this difference, or the flow or temperature is erratic, then you may have a faulty flow/stabilizer valve.

Hi, Thanks for reply. Did the test listed below, flow does slow down as temperature setting is increased. Did fine new detail. With shower set on high heat setting and set to 8. Temperature of water will cycle from hot to cold without a noticeable change in water flow. There was audible change in the pump noise but no change in flow. The temperature changed from hot to cold about every 1 minute? Hope this help pin point issue? does is still sound like flow/stabilizer valve fault? Thanks Luke

Hi, sorry for coming back again. I changed the flow valve for a new unit but it has not solved the problem. What else can I try?

The shower will run and heat water, no problem. With the heat control left in a fixed position to shower will run for about 2 minutes. Then the temperature seems to increase, there is a noticeable change in pump noise and then the water goes cold. It runs cold for about 1 to 2 minutes, then the pump noise changes again and the heat comes back in the water. The cycle then repeats every 2 minutes or so.

Thanks again

Luke
