front plate display

front plate displays 60 degrees regardless of where the dial is turned. However turning the dial still adjusts the temperature but the only way to know the wate temperature is by touch

Likely to be a fault with the thermistor in the outlet or one of the PCB's.

My advice is unless you desperately need to see the temperature then forget about it the front cover PCB is around £200 and the main board is around £100 which is not worth it as you can buy a new shower for the same kind of money.
