Low pressure light - gradual failure

My LP kept coming on and I could fix it by emptying the scale trap (very hard water here). Gradually I had to do this more and more frequently until at last, now emptying the scale rap doesn't resolve. After a few seconds of switching on, LP comes on and flow stops. I have measured resistance of the solenoid and it is 4k. What else could be the problem? Is the pressure switch a possibility? Or something else?

I would be inclined to change the , www.showerdoc.com/triton-solenoid-valve-assembly, as this may be the cause of the problem.
