Pressure relief device

The pressure relief device has failed (or perhaps I should say it worked!) water now escapes from the outlet connected to it and I found a small rubber ball in the bath. I've ordered a new one but before I fit it can you say why it might have failed so I can avoid it happening again.

Thanks

It’sa safety device on the bottom of the heating tank.

Itis fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it toblow, oftena kink in the hose or the showerhead is blocked, so check this before fittingthe new PRD.
