Luke Warm Shower

Shower is running luke warm. Boiler temperature is fine and all other taps producing hot water. Have turned down cold flow but temperature is still constant luke warm. Is there a part that could be changed that regulates the temperature that a diy novice could change?

Regarding the temperaturefluctuation or cool running it could be a faulty cartridge, however to checkthis, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters theshower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipethe temperature fluctuates or goes cool then the problem is not with the showerbut more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sendsto it.

If the temp is hot andsteady then you more likely need to service the valve

or it may need a waxthermostatic cartridge, however due to the cost of the wax cartridge it isworth servicing the valve first.

Disregard the temperature atthe taps as they have a different flow rate.

This was installed 2009. Since then and on average once a year, the shower starts to get progressively lukewarm even when overriding the stop button. The problem is overcome each time the large 'O' ring 1 is replaced and the shower seems to work fine for about 12 months. My guess is that the water pressure maybe too high, washing out the lubricant. Rather than replacing the 'O' ring, can it be re-lubricated? Reducing the cold water pressure would be very involved. What's your view of the problem?
