The handle won't turn properly until the valve has warmed up a little

we have this shower - actually it's our second one - and this one has developed the same problem of the handle jamming /not turning properly so the shower is lukewarm at best. You can turn the handle very gently, a little more at a time as the unit warms up. After a while it works smoothly but is very annoying when you are in a hurry! Can it be repaired? We don't want to disturb our tiling to replace it - this is one of the few shower valves of 130mm width.

You could tryu re greasing the internals, but if this does not work, fitting a ,
