Temperature Problem

I have an Ultra 3/4 turn concealed minamilist shower which has the above front housing (and the old style thermostatic metal piston). I have had a problem recently whereby the shower isn't hot enough even with the temparature adjusted turned entirely anti-clockwise to the end stop. I am going to try adjusting the flow controlers on the shower elbows, but before doing that I would like to know if I may also need a new thermostatic cartridge and / or what else may cause this type of problem? If I turn on a cold tap upstream, the shower gets warm enough so I suspect it is a flow-rate related problem although that must mean there is an issue with the thermostatic element as well I guess? Any help gratefully received...

Regardingthe temperature fluctuation or cool running it could be a faulty cartridgehowever to check this, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before itenters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipethe temperature fluctuates or goes cool then the problem is not with the showerbut more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boilersends to it.

Disregard the temperature atthe taps as they have a different flow rate.

How to test the thermostat.
