3/4" Dual Shower Valve I think it is the minimalist one

Our shower is very difficult to adjust and the controls are very stiff. I have removed the front knob and eventually freed the temperature override button_ the metal round it seems to be disintegrating. I have removed the centre screw but there is no circlip to remove. The shaft seems to go through a washer which has a series of small triangles embedded in the metal. How can I proceed with the dismantling ?Your advice would be appreciated. Is the main outer casting brass?
