fitting ULTRA-SAR00 service pack

This looks exactly what I want. However when I get the whole shower valve out there does not seem to be any way to open it up in order to fit the new part. Can you help?

I am not sure how far you have got in terms of disassembly  but I presume can’t get the housing apart from the body.

It is a pretty c**p bit of design because there is nowhere to grip the housing so you can remove it from the body.

A strap wrench is probably the best thing http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=f&oq=strap+wrench&hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGLS_en-GBGB404GB404&q=strap+wrench&gs_upl=0l0l0l8080lllllllllll0&aqi=g5

Byr because the body is so smooth even they don’t grip and slip round

The other thing is to use a large adjustable wrench or pump pliers and wrap a bit of cloth round the valve to protect the finish.
