This question is regarding Ultra Showers Ultra Non-Return Valve Housing & O-Ring - SVQ02

Centre screw

In the housing there is a screw which goes in or out as it is turned. What is the screw doing and is it an adjustment that needs setting when installing the replacement housing. I am replacing the original as there is a slight leak from this screw.

This screw is used to shut off the water at the shower.
