Put in new cartridge and greased but still driping

Grease the thread on the inside of the chrome spindle assembly.

If you screw it back and forward you can see the washer plate that turns the water off move back and forward against the brass face.

Screw this forward against the face before reassembling the shower, this should mean that when you fit the lever just a little extra pressure will shut the valve off completely.
