is my pump faulty

The pump won't start up unles the shower head is lowered to near the floor and given a good shake, once it gets going it's fine, you can turn the shower on and off at will and the pump turns on and off too, but if it is not used for even a few hours it stops working, can you help advise what I should do, please. The problem is you have the wrong type of pump.

For your pump to start automatically there needs to be a vertical distance of approximately 1mt between the top of our shower head and the base of your cold water tank (It can work with less 600mm but it depends on the situation)

You need a universal pump that will come on in a negative situation (Which it appears you have)
